At City of Hope, we understand that vulvar cancer is a complex disease requiring expert care.
That’s why we work with you, and one another, to develop a comprehensive treatment plan personalized to your individual needs, preferences and goals. Our board-certified gynecologic oncologists are trained and experienced in all stages of vulvar cancer, from diagnosing the disease, to treating it and managing its side effects, to survivorship. Your treatment plan may include surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, as well supportive care therapies designed to help manage side effects like fatigue, nausea and neuropathy.
Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) is now City of Hope®, joining forces to expand patient access to personalized, comprehensive cancer care.
Vulvar cancer is such an important focus at City of Hope that our Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix hospitals have a Gynecologic Cancer Center dedicated to treating patients with all types and stages of the disease. The multidisciplinary teams at each of our centers are singularly focused on screening, diagnosing and treating gynecologic cancers using standard-of-care and, when appropriate, innovative precision medicine treatments. Our gynecologic oncologists, for example, have years of training and experience in a wide array of specialized surgical procedures, such as vulvectomy and pelvic exenteration.
Your vulvar cancer care team works all under one roof. That means you have access to state-of-the-art cancer treatments and supportive care services, all in one location. Your care team is led by a fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologist, and your treatment plan is coordinated by a care manager dedicated to orchestrating your schedule, communicating with the rest of your care team, getting your questions answered and helping you access your test results in a timely manner. Your care team may also include a medical, surgical and/or radiation oncologist, oncology nurses and a variety of supportive care providers, including a pelvic floor therapist.

Our doctors work with supportive care providers to deliver evidence-informed therapies designed to address the symptoms of vulvar cancer and the side effects of treatment. Our patients can meet with a pain management physician to help reduce pain and an oncology-trained dietitian, who may recommend a personalized nutrition plan to address nausea and malnutrition. The goal of supportive care is to keep you strong so you can better tolerate your treatments and maintain your quality of life.

“My overall goal is to provide patients personalized treatment plans while managing their symptoms to enhance quality of life.”
Clinical trials are critical tools researchers and doctors use to determine the safety and effectiveness of new drugs and therapies. At City of Hope, we’re committed to offering our patients innovative and new cancer treatments, including access to clinical trials when appropriate. These trials may provide therapies that are not yet widely available to qualified patients who have exhausted conventional treatment options or whose cancer is advanced or difficult to treat. Our cancer doctors and researchers will work with you to determine whether you qualify for a trial and, if so, help you enroll.
