Scott Siegel, DC, FIAMA, joined City of Hope® Cancer Center Atlanta in May 2024, offering evidence-informed care focused on improving quality of life as a chiropractor on the integrative medicine team. He specializes in the conservative treatment of disorders of the muscles, skeleton and nervous system within a collaborative medical model, bringing more than two decades of expertise to his practice.
Dr. Siegel’s inspirations start close to home. For many years, his mother dealt with debilitating lower back pain. His older sister became a chiropractor and sees their mother as a patient. Witnessing how the difference this made drove him to also build a career freeing others from pain so they can live a full life. After Dr. Siegel’s mother passed away from cancer, he was motivated to devote his career to treating oncology patients and their families with chiropractic care.
“I know the challenges my patients and their caregivers face during cancer treatment,” Dr. Siegel says. “I always make sure that, first of all, they feel heard. Once I’ve learned their individual goals for care, I build on that to form relationships based in trust. Throughout, I ensure that they understand the therapies and keep my focus on reducing their pain and improving function to help them during their cancer journey, and on into survivorship.”
A fellow of the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture and a member of the American Chiropractic Association, Dr. Siegel earned his Bachelor of Science degree in public health from the University of Indiana, Bloomington, before completing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, New York. Over the years, Dr. Siegel progressed from working as an associate provider at a private chiropractic clinic in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to launching his own practices in New Bern, North Carolina, and Washington, North Carolina. He then led the physical medicine department at a medical group in Louisville, Kentucky, and Jeffersonville, Indiana, serving the workforce of one of the nation’s largest private employers. He frequently participates as an expert panelist developing best practices for chiropractic care and has contributed to guidelines for treating lower back pain, neck pain and headaches.
Outside of City of Hope, Dr. Siegel enjoys spending time with his family, jogging, mountain biking, reading and practicing photography.
