About Me

Michelle Johnson-Monteith is a nurse practitioner in the oncology clinic at City of Hope Atlanta. “I enjoy helping cancer patients and their families throughout the cancer journey,” says Johnson-Monteith. “There are so many resources available at City of Hope, and I want to help my patients find and use them.”

Johnson-Monteith, who joined City of Hope in 2015 as a registered nurse, has over 20 years of health care experience. She cares for patients with all cancer types and stages. Working closely with patients and their families to help see their needs are met, Johnson-Monteith is responsible for continuity of care, including diagnosis, treatment, symptom management and survivorship.

“When meeting with my patients, I make sure to take time to explain everything and answer any questions,” says Johnson-Monteith. “By listening to their questions and concerns, I can understand what they’re experiencing and use that information to provide personalized care.”

Johnson-Monteith graduated from Chamberlain University in Downers Grove, Illinois, with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree, both in nursing. She’s a certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and worked in various hospital and clinic settings prior to joining City of Hope. She’s a member of several professional organizations, including American Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Outside of City of Hope, Johnson-Monteith enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially cruising and traveling with her husband and son.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
