Meng Gan, MD, is a Radiation Oncologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Chicago, working with patients’ multidisciplinary cancer care teams and bringing her expertise in multiple innovative radiation therapy techniques to her work with patients undergoing treatment for all cancer types, with a focus on breast, prostate and lung cancers.
“I love working with cancer patients and with cancer care teams, including tumor boards and clinicians,” says Dr. Gan. “I want my patients to become experts on their disease and to understand their treatment plans.”
After studying biomedical engineering as an undergraduate student, Dr. Gan turned to medicine and radiation oncology—a specialty that offered a way to combine all her professional skills and interests. She earned her medical degree at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City before completing a preliminary internal medicine internship at Loma Linda University in California, where she was named intern of the year. She then completed her radiation oncology residency at University of California, Irvine.
Having studied and lived in more than half a dozen states, Dr. Gan is excited to bring her expertise in radiation therapy to patients at City of Hope Chicago. Highly trained in delivering a wide range of techniques using innovative, leading-edge tools, Dr. Gan is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology and has published multiple peer-reviewed articles in her specialty.
Outside of City of Hope, Dr. Gan enjoys cooking and dabbling in graphic design.
