About Me
I am honored that patients trust me to help them in their most vulnerable state.

Maria Olivia Ortiz Castillo, M.D., is a board-certified internist who is dedicated to providing the best possible care to patients when they enter the hospital, perhaps the most challenging time in their lives. Dr. Castillo has a decade of experience as a trained hospitalist at facilities across Southern California, and she relishes the challenge “to create strategic plans to improve health and health care outcomes for patients with complex conditions.”

Dr. Castillo received her medical degree from UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine and continued her training with an internship and residency at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California.

Dr. Castillo prides herself on the relationships she forms with her patients. She’s delighted to join the City of Hope family. “Working with a team on the cutting edge of science looking for novel therapies to aid in this unique population is incredibly rewarding.”
Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
