About Me

For Lior Goldberg, M.D., M.S., his work as pediatric oncologist centers around curiosity, compassion and courage. He makes sure to genuinely get to know the patients and families he serves, sharing in the difficult aspects of cancer and its treatment while helping ease distress. Ultimately, his goal is to do the right thing for the people who count on him for the best in cancer care.

Dr. Goldberg received his medical degree from Tel Aviv University, School of Medicine, and did his residency at Sheba Medical Center at Tel-Hashomer in Israel, where he was recognized for his clinical excellence, leadership and outstanding achievements. He went on to complete a clinical pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and an immunotherapy research fellowship at City of Hope under the mentorship of Stephen J. Forman, M.D.

Dr. Goldberg is the recipient of several awards, including the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles Fellow Teaching Award for Outstanding Teaching and Commitment, the SHARE Inc. Research Fellow Award in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology and the Hyundai Hope On Wheels Young Investigator Award.

As a physician-scientist, Dr. Goldberg helps patients and families directly by overseeing treatment and on a broader scale through his work developing new therapies. He has authored more than a dozen peer-reviewed studies in areas such as gene therapy, cell therapy and precision medicine.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
