Nurse Practitioner
I treat each of my patients the way I would want my own parents and loved ones to be treated.
Master of Science of Nursing, University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL
Julieta Valenzona, NP-C, joined City of Hope® Cancer Center Atlanta in May 2022 as a Nurse Practitioner working with Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Surgeon Dr. Beomjune Kim. Valenzona supports Dr. Kim in caring for patients with cancer and other diseases that affect the head and neck.
Valenzona brings more than 20 years of nursing experience to City of Hope, drawn to the national hospital system by the prospect of joining a collaborative team providing comprehensive cancer care in a single location. Valenzona also appreciated the opportunity to work for a non-profit hospital system.
“My primary goal for my patients is always to help each person achieve his or her own individual treatment goals,” said Valenzona. “Cancer treatment requires caring both for patients’ physical and emotional well-being, so my job is to inform and treat the whole patient, every step of the way.”
After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, Valenzona earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Columbia University School of Nursing in New York, New York. Then, while practicing as a nurse, working primarily in OB-GYN departments, Valenzona earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. After becoming certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Valenzona practiced at several pain management clinics before transitioning to oncology and joining City of Hope. She is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).
Outside of City of Hope, Valenzona is a loving mom to two sons, channeling her father’s love of nature by enjoying the outdoors with her family as much as possible.
