Joseph Vega, DO., found his calling in medicine at a young age due to his fascination with human anatomy and physiology. Inspired by the remarkable work of physicians, he volunteered at a community hospital for many years during his undergraduate studies, solidifying his commitment to pursue the lifelong study of medicine.
Dr. Vega received his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences and followed with a residency in emergency medicine at Kaweah Health. Shortly after, he expanded his skills through fellowship training in palliative medicine, focusing on pain and symptom management, exploring patient treatment preferences, and developing personalized medical care plans. Most importantly, he aims to treat every patient with sincere kindness and compassion.
A proud member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the Sigma Sigma Phi National Honor Society, Dr. Vega’s passion for patient-centered care shines through. He regularly extends his care to those in need through his volunteer work with street medicine teams, community health action teams, and the Flying Samaritans.
With unwavering enthusiasm, Dr. Vega cherishes the privilege of helping patients and families facing serious illness, building meaningful connections that inspire him daily.
