About Me

Joel Stewart, Jr., M.D., F.A.C.S., is a reconstructive plastic surgeon at City of Hope®® Cancer Center Atlanta, where he serves as part of the surgical oncology team and specializes in offering women diagnosed with breast cancer access to innovative reconstructive surgical options after breast cancer surgery. 

Dr. Stewart is an expert in addressing the complex needs of breast cancer patients, helping women who have undergone breast cancer surgery understand their options for reconstructing the look and shape of the breast after procedures such as a lumpectomy or mastectomy. 

After receiving his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Dr. Stewart completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Alabama Medical Center in the same city. He then completed a fellowship in plastic surgery at Tulane University in New Orleans. A board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Stewart has more than 15 years’ experience in his field.
