About Me
Urologic surgeon Humberto Villarreal, M.D., M.S.C.I., was compelled to become a physician out of a desire to serve medically underserved communities like his own hometown. He involves patients in decision-making and incorporates their values in planning treatment that will enable them to survive cancer with dignity.
 
Dr. Villarreal earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where he also completed an internship in general surgery. A decorated veteran of the U.S. Army Medical Corps, he was an intern in general surgery at San Antonio Military Medical Center and a resident in urology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he also received a master’s degree in clinical investigation. At the University of Colorado, he held a Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons Fellowship.
 
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Villarreal enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, hiking, exploring new beaches and skiing.
