Anesthesiologist Gian Nhan, M.D., first connected with his calling out of the desire to improve pain management for surgical patients. He finds meaning in using his skills to assist those who are critically ill. For him, that involves excellence combined with a sense of urgency and compassion.Â
Dr. Nhan brought 20 years of medical experience with him when he came onboard at City of Hope in 2023. He has worked in settings ranging from small dental offices to large surgical centers and specialty hospitals, including stints with Adventist Health White Memorial, Adventist Health Glendale, St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa, and Scripps Medical and Surgical Center.Â
His areas of expertise include acute pain management — including methods for blocking nerve signals from entire regions of the body — as well as anesthetic techniques for vascular, cardiothoracic, and orthopedic surgeries; and early recovery after outpatient surgery.
An immigrant himself, Dr. Nhan is committed to providing the highest quality of care for the diverse communities served by City of Hope.
