It was my dream since childhood to become a doctor.
George Hajjar, M.D., FACP says watching his mother face the challenges of breast cancer inspired him to pursue training in medical oncology and instilled the importance of compassionate care. This makes him an ideal fit for City of Hope, which he calls, “the place where I belong.â€
Dr. Hajjar received his medical degree from Aleppo University in Syria and continued his training at Seton Hall University in New Jersey. Before joining City of Hope, he spent a decade serving the community of Porterville, California, at the Sierra View Cancer Treatment Center.
Dr. Hajjar is regional medical director for San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and Ventura County. He handles patients with hematology and general medical oncology at the Santa Clarita clinical network location.
