About Me

It was my dream since childhood to become a doctor.

George Hajjar, M.D., FACP says watching his mother face the challenges of breast cancer inspired him to pursue training in medical oncology and instilled the importance of compassionate care. This makes him an ideal fit for City of Hope, which he calls, “the place where I belong.”

Dr. Hajjar received his medical degree from Aleppo University in Syria and continued his training at Seton Hall University in New Jersey. Before joining City of Hope, he spent a decade serving the community of Porterville, California, at the Sierra View Cancer Treatment Center.

Dr. Hajjar is regional medical director for San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and Ventura County. He handles patients with hematology and general medical oncology at the Santa Clarita clinical network location.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
