About Me

As a psychiatrist specializing in cancer care, Erica Veguilla, MD, takes a holistic approach, combining conventional treatments like pharmaceuticals and traditional psychotherapy with evidence-based complementary treatments, including meditation and lifestyle interventions.

Dr. Veguilla’s philosophy is shaped by experience in private practice and as a staff psychiatrist at respected institutions. She most recently established a private practice in Naperville, IL, providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy. Her prior positions include roles at Northwestern Medicine Central Dupage Hospital; Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital; Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital; and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Veguilla earned her medical degree from University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine and a Master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. She completed her psychiatry residency at Boston University and fellowships at Harvard South Shore/Boston VA Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. 

Recognized for excellence, Dr.  Veguilla received the Partners in Excellence Team Award in 2013 from Brigham & Women’s Faulker Hospital and the Evelyn H. & Theodore P. Chengelis Award for exemplary character from Boston University.
