Emily Lalor, AGACNP-BC, is an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (APNP) at City of Hope® Cancer Center Atlanta. A critical care and emergency medicine specialist, Lalor works closely with patients at City of Hope to manage and treat both acute and chronic conditions related to their cancer or its treatments, including reviewing test results, prescribing medications and offering compassionate care.
Since beginning her career as a nurse in 2010, Lalor has found working with cancer patients to be particularly rewarding.
“I truly loved caring for oncology patients during my time at the bedside in the intensive care unit,” she says. “I have always been in awe of our patients’ fighting spirt, and that encouraged me not only to stay at City of Hope as a nurse, but to further my education so that I could continue to serve them as a nurse practitioner.”
In addition to her career as an APNP, Lalor is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in adult gerontology acute care and has wide-ranging experience in medical, surgical, pulmonary and critical care units. She earned her nursing degree at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia, then completed her master’s degree in nursing and in the field of adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“My goal is to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to meet the urgent needs of my patients during their course of treatment while at City of Hope,” she says.
Outside of City of Hope, Lalor enjoys traveling, gardening and spending time with her husband and three sons.
