About Me

Surgical oncologist Bradford Kim, M.D., M.H.S., was inspired to become a doctor by the loss of loved ones to serious illness while he was still young. He approaches patient care as a partnership that requires a thoughtful plan developed collaboratively to meet the needs of every cancer patient.

Dr. Kim specializes in treating complex cancers of the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, stomach, intestines, retroperitoneal sarcoma and tumors that spread to the abdomen from other organs. He is deeply versed in both traditional surgery and robotic techniques that use tiny incisions and result in less pain, fewer side effects and faster recovery, such as robotic hepatectomy, HIPEC, robotic pancreatectomy, cytoreduction and robotic gastrectomy.

He completed his fellowship training in both Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery and Complex General Surgical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He joined City of Hope in 2022 and has over 50 peer-reviewed scientific publications to his credit. His research focuses on the delivery of fitness and nutrition programs to cancer patients and survivors to optimize cancer outcomes. Dr. Kim is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Surgical Society of Oncology and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract.

When he's not seeing patients at the Upland and Corona clinics, Dr. Kim is a weightlifting coach and athlete. He has competed at the national level and has led his team to four national championships in the under-25 category.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
