Angela Dumbuya is a nurse practitioner at City of Hope Atlanta. As a nurse practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing experience, she is part of an integrative team working in a collaborative environment, all under one roof.
Dumbuya provides comprehensive care for those who have breast cancer and other high-risk breast conditions. Dumbuya educates patients on available treatment options, including surgery, chemotherapy, targeted therapy and radiation. She is also responsible for the continuity of care, working with patients throughout their treatment journey.
“I believe in having open and honest conversations with my patients because it is important for them to be actively involved in their treatment decisions,” Dumbuya says. “It is my responsibility to help my patients understand the information and confident in their care.”
Dumbuya earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Auburn University at Montgomery in Montgomery, Alabama. She completed her Master of Science in nursing at Troy University in Troy, Alabama, becoming a certified Nurse Practitioner. Dumbuya then earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama. She holds a Family Nurse Practitioner Certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is certified as an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner from the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation.
Outside of City of Hope, Dumbuya enjoys spending time with her friends and family including her husband, four adult children, a grandson and a dog name Pepper. Dumbuya loves to travel, meet new people, eat new food and learn from other cultures.
