An Nguyen, M.D., is an assistant clinical professor of diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte. She specializes in helping patients with diabetes and other endocrine diseases manage their conditions and preserve their quality of life by making informed decisions about their care.
Dr. Nguyen was drawn to the field of medicine because it combined her enthusiasm for science with a desire to have a positive impact on others’ lives. She chose to focus on endocrinology because it offered the chance to work with patients with a diverse range of conditions. In her clinical work, Dr. Nguyen’s combines a compassionate, patient-centered approach with deep expertise in leading-edge treatment options for diabetes and other disorders of the endocrine system.
After earning her medical degree at Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, Dr. Nguyen went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at Scripps Clinic and Scripps Green Hospital in San Diego. She then completed a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of California, San Francisco.Â
Dr. Nguyen has been recognized for her research by the Endocrine Fellow Foundation and received a certificate for outstanding service to her community for her work during medical school in New York. She has contributed to multiple studies in the field of endocrinology and presented her research at conferences around the country.
