About Me

For hematologist Amanda Blackmon, D.O., the battle against blood cancers is a personal one. When she was young, she watched a close family member face leukemia and become a long-term survivor of the disease. This experience led to a unique perspective and passion to improve current treatments She aims to really understand each patient and their journey, listening carefully and helping them navigate their condition, to achieve the best possible outcomes. Her overall goals are to advocate for her patients and advance her field.

As a former chief fellow from University of California, Irvine, Dr. Blackmon was recognized with the Dr. Padmini Ayer Award for Excellence in Hematology/Oncology for her work over two consecutive years. She has presented research multiple times at conferences organized by SOHO, the American Society of Hematology and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Dr. Blackmon also served as an author for ASH News Daily which reports on the latest research in her field.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
