Tracey Thomas rejoined City of Hope Chicago in April 2022 as a Naturopathic Provider, using evidence-informed strategies to help patients reduce side effects, support their immune health and improve their quality of life. She works with patients with any cancer diagnosis and focuses on genitourinary diseases, employing natural remedies, nutritional supplements and botanicals. She first joined City of Hope in 2008, and during her tenure at that time, she served as Naturopathic Residency Manager and a member of the Genitourinary Center of Excellence team.
“I am passionate about helping people understand safe, evidence-informed natural strategies for those diagnosed with cancer,” Thomas says about why she chose oncology. “People have so many questions about supplements and what they can or shouldn’t take during cancer treatment. I am driven to guide people through personalized nutrition and supplement plans during treatment and survivorship.”
Thomas has extensive experience in helping cancer patients manage their symptoms through naturopathic support and is well-published on topics such as androgen deprivation therapy for hot flashes in prostate cancer.
After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, Thomas went on to earn her doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the National University of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon. A Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology, she maintains a naturopathic doctor’s license in California and Washington.
Outside of City of Hope, Thomas loves to travel and spend as much time in nature with her dog and family.
