Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), a national network of five comprehensive cancer centers, continues to add recognized industry leaders to its executive team ranks. The company, with headquarters in Boca Raton and more than 4,600 employees nationwide, is embarking on a number of strategies aimed at bringing its unique patient-centric model of care to more patients.
Jennifer Barnett-Sarpalius was recently appointed to the role of Chief Financial Officer at CTCA® and brings a wealth of knowledge across all facets of health care finance and business development. Barnett-Sarpalius has more than 27 years of health care finance experience in large, multi-hospital health systems including CHI St. Luke’s Health System, Trinity Health, Catholic Health East (CHE) and Christus Health.
Ensuring patient access is a key priority for CTCA. This effort is being led by Michael McMillan, who was appointed Chief Access Officer in early 2017. McMillan brings more than 30 years of managed care experience to CTCA, including 18 years at The Cleveland Clinic and Cleveland Clinic Health System in Ohio. He oversees the organization’s payor access and employer relations efforts.
As part of the company’s increased focus on ensuring consumers have access to cancer information, Ken Chaplin joined CTCA as Senior Vice President of Growth in July 2017 to oversee social and integrated media, including cancercenter.com, which receives more than 3 million unique visits each month. Chaplin spent the majority of his 25-year career at The Walt Disney Company where, in roles of increasing global responsibility, he helped bring the Disney brand to millions of new consumers in the US, Japan, Australia and China.
Charged with overseeing the implementation of CTCA outpatient cancer centers to further broaden access for patients who do not live close to a CTCA hospital is Rob Braun, who was recently appointed to Vice President of the CTCA National Clinical Network. Braun brings 25 years of experience in the oncology sector, most recently as System Vice President for Robert Wood Johnson (RWJ) Barnabas Health, the largest provider of cancer services in New Jersey anchored by Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
“This is an incredibly exciting time for our organization,” said Raj Garg, JD, MD, CTCA President & CEO. “With such a broad range of new and existing talent, I am confident that we are poised to offer high quality care to many more patients when they need us most.”
