Dr. Sankar Srinivasan joined City of Hope in Atlanta, Georgia, in January 2022. He is an experienced medical oncologist, and is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. At City of Hope, Dr. Srinivasan treats patients diagnosed with a variety of cancer types and stages.
Dr. Srinivasan was drawn to City of Hope because of the patient-centered approach to care. “I believe patients should be active and knowledgeable participants in the treatment decision-making process,” says Dr. Srinivasan. “Working together with other doctors and supportive care clinicians, all under one roof, we develop an integrative treatment plan tailored to each individual. This helps provide seamless care and improve quality of life throughout the treatment journey.”
Originally from India, Dr. Srinivasan received his medical degree at the University of Madras in Madras, India. He came to the United States in 1992, then completed a residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Srinivasan completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Licensed by the States of Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arizona, Dr. Srinivasan has practiced in a variety of health care settings. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American Medical Association and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Outside of City of Hope, Dr. Srinivasan likes spending time with his friends and family. He enjoys traveling and often volunteers his time in India, providing free and subsidized cancer care for low-income patients.
